FAQs
What syle of yoga do you teach?
I teach slow flow yoga class. My classes are designed to be gentle and restorative, while also giving participants opportunities to build strength, flexibility, and balance. Slow flow yoga classes emphasize connecting mind, breath, and body. You can expect to flow through some postures connecting breath and movement, and to hold more restorative postures for several breaths.
I'm an absolute beginner. Are your classes right for me?
Yes! My classes are designed to be accessible regardless of your yoga experience or fitness level. I try to give options throughout the practice to help adjust your intensity level. You will be encouraged to move at your own pace and take breaks as needed.
I have accessibility/sensory needs. Can you tell me what to expect?
The practice space at The Well is wheelchair accessible by ramp. Bathrooms with room for changing are on the lower level with elevator access. Although my classes are primarily mat-based, there are chairs available and I can offer cues for a chair-based practice.
I do not use any scents during my classes. I sometimes play quiet background music. I am not trained in hands-on assist and do not touch students; all adjustments will be suggested through verbal cues. Photographs will be taken only with your written consent.
If you have a concern not mentioned above, or need accommodations to participate in the class, please contact me ahead of class so I can address your concern!
When should I arrive? What entrance do you use? Where can I park?
Plan to arrive 5-10 minutes early to sign in and set up your mat. Class will begin promptly at the scheduled time.
When you arrive at The Well, please use the Pleasant Street side entrance with the ramp, to the left of the main church doors.
On-street parking is available on Pleasant Street. I recommend allowing a few extra minutes for parking.
What should I bring?
Please bring a yoga mat. You may also wish to bring yoga props such a bolster, a blanket, and/or blocks, as well as a bottle of water. A drinking water/tea station will be available.
What should I wear? Is there any place to change clothes or leave my things?
Wear anything comfortable that will allow you to move freely. I recommend dressing in layers as temperatures may vary at The Well; it can be a little chilly before you get moving! You will be asked to leave your shoes at the door to help keep the practice space clean.
The Well has bathrooms with room for changing. There are no cubbies for storage, but there is plenty of room at the back and sides of the practice space for you to leave bags or personal items.
What ages can attend your class?
These classes are aimed at ages 16 and up. Anyone under age 18 must have a parent/guardian present at registration to sign a release form.
